Some important things we note in worship are:
In worship, we meet with God.
God created man to have the most intimate fellowship with Him. Although this was lost by our first parents in the garden, it has been restored through the perfect work of Jesus Christ. By faith we come into the very presence of God, into the temple made without hands, the New Jerusalem. (Hebrews 12:22-24)
In worship, we dialogue with God.
As we meet with God, He speaks through His Word when it is read and preached by the minister. Through the means of singing and prayer, the congregation offers their praise and acknowledges dependence on Him. (Romans 10:14; Colossians 3:16)
In worship, we celebrate our new life in Christ.
Even as Christ rose from the dead, we have new life in Him. This gives us confidence to come joyfully into God’s presence having been cleansed through the blood of Christ. (Hebrews 10:19-25)
In worship, we are guided by the Holy Spirit.
We seek to be filled with the Holy Spirit and led by the Word of God that we might have sweet fellowship with God. Individually we come together as the Body of Christ in corporate worship and experience a blessed communion. (Ephesians 4:11-16)
In worship, we are edified.
Having met with God, He has provided us with the food and drink of life and sends us with His blessing to cheerfully pursue our lives in service to Him. (Romans 12:1-2)
